Simpson Co. Schools: Due to the weather forecast and the chance for heavy rains, we have made the decision to postpone the Powderpuff Football Game, the Homecoming Parade, and the Crowning Ceremony until next week. All other Homecoming activities scheduled for this week will move forward as planned.
The Powderpuff Football game will now be played Thursday October 3 at 6:00 p.m.
The Homecoming Parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday October 4.
The Crowning Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday October 4.
We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we work around the weather to ensure our Homecoming activities are safe and enjoyable for all involved.

We are excited to get the new school year started. Some things to remember for a smooth opening day:
all students are dropped off in the front of the building each morning, in the afternoon 4th graders are picked up in the front of the building and fifth graders in the back of the building, staff will be positioned throughout the building to help students find his or her way to class, all children may eat breakfast and then be helped to the classroom, and finally please be patient as you drop off and pick-up students. Bus riders will get off bus and go to breakfast or classroom. Let the new year begin!

Monday, April 8th is the Solar Eclipse. We will go out at approximately 1:45 PM and all students must wear the regulated glasses that the District purchased. If you do not want your student to participate, then either send a written note or call the school.

Students from LES and FSMS performed in the All-State Elementary Modern Band held at the annual KMEA Conference this evening. This was the first modern band performance at the KMEA Conference and also in the country.
