SCS will be closed Friday February 21st for in person instruction. It will be NTI Day #5. The weekend forecast looks good and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday. There may be some adjustments in transportation to avoid any flooded areas that we have to deal with. We will be in contact with students on those routes.

If you aren't receiving live updates on Campus Parent Portal to see your child's grades and attendance, please download the app and log in with your username and password. If you need assistance, please email samantha.davidson@simpson.kyschools.us. This app will show you information on every child in your household in Simpson County. If you and your child do not understand your child's grade, please contact the teacher. Most teachers are first.last@simpson.kyschools.us, but you can also find those emails in the Campus Parent Portal app. We have homework help each day before school starting at 7:30 and after school from 3:15-4:15 (except Fridays). Bus transportation can be provided on Tue/Thur if you email leah.wood@simpson.kyschools.us the day before.

Congratulations to Taronce Robey, Zeke Eberhart and Jakob Hesson for being accepted into the Governor's Scholar Program! "In order to participate in [this highly competitive] program, students must be nominated by their high schools and then compete on a state-wide level. Selection for the program is highly competitive, with an application process similar to that of prestigious colleges and universities. In addition to an academic profile that includes difficulty of course load, GPA, and at least one standardized test score, the application requires an outline of all extracurricular activities, a history of volunteer service, and a list of job positions held. A Teacher recommendation which includes both a quantitative evaluation and qualitative descriptions of the student’s performance and potential; as well as a Community Recommendation which shows how a student performs in a community setting beyond the high school are also required. The final component of the application is an original writing entry." gsp.ky.gov
