Returning To School

I hope everyone is having a great summer break. I know that many of you have been anxiously awaiting the release of new information about the start of school.

On Monday July 13th you will have the opportunity to begin registering your student for the 2020-2021 school year. This will be our first step in the reopening plans for the new school year. There will be 2 options to select when registering for school. Option 1 will be the Traditional option which is normal face to face instruction from teachers. SCS will be following all Healthy at School guidelines from the governor and Kentucky Department of Health. Option 2 will be the distance learning option or referred to sometimes  as the virtual option.

It is our goal to deliver to quality instruction regardless of which option you choose for your student. SCS will deliver on our mission of Empowering all students to graduate Life-Ready.

There are 2 links included in this email. The first is a short video of an overview of the reopening plans. The second is the beginning of our reopening website that explains the 2 options for school in the 2020-2021 school year. Hopefully, this website will begin to answer questions that may you have about the 2 options. However, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to your school to get the answers you need.

The registration is an important first step in the planning process so that we can plan accordingly for the students that will be attending face to face and those that will choose the distance learning option.

I appreciate the patience and perseverance that all of our students, staff, parents and community stakeholders have shown while we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020-2021 school year will be a journey that none of us have every encountered, but we will get to other side of it of together.

Final reminder: the link for registration will be released Monday morning at approximately 9:00am and it will also be on the school website and social media accounts.

Have a great weekend, be safe and take care!!! #1FS
