Hello SCS Stakeholders-
On Tuesday (4/12/2022) morning at approximately 9:30 am SCS was informed by local law enforcement that a robbery had taken place at Walgreens. At that time we made the decision to place all our schools on a soft lockdown. Soft lockdown consists of restricting movement within the building and not accepting any visitors. However, we continue to have instruction within the classroom.
We were notified approximately 30 minutes later that law enforcement were confident the suspects were no longer in the area and we could resume normal activity.
We appreciate our relationship with local law enforcement and their prompt communication. Staff and students responded swiftly and effectively and everyone worked to ensure that we maintained a safe environment. We just wanted to keep everyone informed and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out.
