Parents eager to enroll their children in the Simpson County Schools Preschool and Headstart program for the upcoming academic year are invited to register on April 18 and 19.
The registration will take place at the Franklin Elementary School office located at 211 S. Main St. On April 18, registration will be open from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and on April 19, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
This registration is exclusively for new enrollments. The program offers free developmental screenings to all three and four-year-old children, with tuition spots also available.
Parents are reminded to bring the following items for registration: a copy of the child's official birth certificate, updated immunization records on a Kentucky form, proof of income, and a copy of a school physical on a Kentucky form. A medical examination is mandatory for school entry.
Eligible students include children who are four years old by August 1 and meet income eligibility guidelines or any three or four-year-old child who meets the Kentucky eligibility criteria for disabilities.
