I am so excited to be the art teacher at LIncoln Elementary School. I have been teaching art for 27 years and have taught k-12 students.I am looking forward to teaching 4th and 5th graders art this year. We will make a lot of artwork, but we will also write about our art and learn the history of art and artists. I want my students to learn to love art and enjoy expressing themselves. We will have a great year learning to think about art and to express ourselves through art.

LES art students also participate in the Artsonia program.  This is an online art gallery where students can share their artwork and artwork may be purchased with a small percentage coming back to our art department for supplies.
I also get to spend the afternoons with enrichment students.  We are learning to think creatively and to problem solve.

Fifth graders will read and develop advanced vocablualry skills as well as writing some creative stories.  They will  research topics and write a research paper.  They will also begin pre-algebra concepts through the use of Odysseyware.
Fourth graders are learning to brainstorm new ideas and to create new and original ideas and products.  They will be working on logic puzzles and learning new vocabulary through analogies, synonyms and antonyms.
