Lori Stevens's Contact:

Hello!   I am the Speech and Language Pathologist here at Lincoln Elementary.   I have 20 years experience working with children with speech and language needs. This is my eighth year here in Franklin, Kentucky. I am nationally certified with the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) with my Certificate of Clinical Competence and have licensure and credentials with the state of Kentucky.

I know it will be a great year!

"If all my possessions were taken from me with one exception, I would choose to keep the power of communication, for by it I would soon regain all the rest." Daniel Webster

There are many things you can do to encourage continued practice of good sounds and language development.
Here are a few ideas:

Find a word of the day with your sound to practice for the day.

Review and practice your child's spelling or vocabulary words.

Play word games or board games that encourage talking such as, I Spy or Apples to Apples.

Cooking can encourage discussion, predicting outcomes and descriptive language.

Talk about what you see, might see and and what might happen next. This can include sequencing, retelling events, and using past, present and future tenses.

Read, Read, Read!!!!  Check out the local library for great books and incentives for reading. All students are encouraged to read and participate with Accelerated Reader.

Check out the Homework pages for more ideas!
